It all begins when a dying scientist, Patrick Yorke, steals a medical prototype from his employer.  The function of the device is to invoke belief in a concept that can be understood, but never explained. A trio of well-connected corporate ideologues, themselves already deeply exposed to the  device (and by extension the concept) descend upon the streets of New Orleans to find the stolen prototype. So when the scientist entrusts the prototype to his younger brother for hiding, a game of cat and mouse is set. His younger brother Ethan (a competitive bodybuilder and middling police detective) may be ill-equipped for paradoxes, puns, and prototypes, but he’s wily enough for the job.  

What ensues is a psychedelic romp through politics, free will, and semiotics. Where political corruption and a strange device come together in a burning whirlwind of tech-induced mania. Hypnopump is a literary exploration into the urge to describe the things in our experience which, by definition, cannot be described with words.
